HOW WE OPERATE...
A Boise native, Andrew grew up in a household committed to international travel and culture. His mother, a Jamaican immigrant, went to nursing school in London and was formerly a flight attendant with British West Indies Airlines. His Father, an Oregon native, was the first person to circumnavigate the globe solo, by motorcycle (1976). Andrew holds a BS in Political Science, and Masters Cert. in Community & Regional Planning from Boise State University. He has traveled to nearly 250 cities in 17 countries, lived in the South Pacific, traveled coast to coast (USA) on his motorcycle, and has run from gun-toting banditos a time or two.

We take safety, security and our image very seriously. In fact, the industry standard by which we are measured clearly identifies the following as paramount to running a good hostel:

Idahostel was founded with these important elements in mind, and will meet or exceed all expectations for stewardship, inclusiveness, and good neighborliness. To this point, we require valid identification and a credit/debit card in order to stay at Idahostel, and require all guests to agree to the Code of Conduct (see FAQ/Rules) upon check-in.
